UTS has taken out all 6 State Team Titles by winning the Women and Men’s Sabre teams.

We fielded 3 teams for the Men’s competition taking out Gold and Silver and 5th place.

State Team Championships – Men’s Sabre

Gold to the UTS White Team – Frank Bartolillo, Frederick Jaccard, Michael Howard
Silver to the UTS Black Team – Michael Abouaf, Alex Carioti, Michael Read, Joe Slowiaczek
5th place to the UTS Teal Team – David Donato, Paul Leone Jnr, Ashley Yue

State Team Championships – Women’s Sabre

Gold to the UTS Team – Alex Andre, Julie Seggie, Melissa Yeung

The gold medal match was between two UTS fencers, with Frank Bartolillo grabbing the gold from Joe Slowiaczek.

Also to be noted were the strong performances by other members of the UTS Men’s Foil Competition Training Squad with Ashley Yue placed 13th, Paul Leone Jnr 21st and David Donato 27th.
