Oceania and Australian Championships 2005

UTS Fencing Club excelled again at the Oceania and Australian Championships which were held from September 30 to October 4 in Sydney.

Of special note is that UTSFC members made up 4 out of 8 of the Men’s Foilist finalists and 3 out of the top 4 with a UTSFC member involved in taking out every gold medal available in Men’s Open Foil.

In total the medal haul was 6 National gold, 5 Oceania gold, 6 Silver, 7 Bronze

Oceania U/17 Championships 2005

Two of UTS Fencing Club’s younger members travelled to New Zealand to compete in the Oceania U/17 Championships held in Christchurch from September 24th.

David Donato followed on from winning the trophy for Best Boy Senior Division A at the Schools League Grand Final, with a 3rd place in the Men’s Foil and 9th in the Men’s Epee. Teneille Murray placed 8th in the Women’s Sabre and 13th in the Women’s Foil.
